Childhood and Early Life
Brian Quang Le or popularly known as Ricegum is of Chinese and Vietnamese descent and was born on the 19th of November 1996, in Las Vegas Nevada. He’s the oldest of three siblings and his parents are Luat Quang Le and Wuang Ly Lely.
There’s not much known about his family as he doesn’t want to put them in the spotlight in order to avoid them getting threats from the people on the internet.

One of the first gameplays that he uploaded was a Modern Warfare 3 gameplay with the title “Lifestory: Babysitting: Ricegum”.
This was followed by several other videos that gained attention to viewers on the site. By 2012, he was able to partner up with a global gamin network called “Machinima”.
He proceeded to do a couple of live streams on Twitch and even collaborated with Mia Khalifa but eventually got banned in the site for showing off his BB guns in video.
By 2015, Ricegum uploaded a roast video called “These Kids Must Be Stopped” where he was criticizing child internet celebrities. Some of these are Jacob Sartorious and also a bunch of kids who’ve been posting videos of them dancing with sexual connotations.
The video then went viral on social media and Ricegum was able to gain more subscribers to his channel.

While Ricegum was successful with his career on the internet, he also dabbled with music as he released hit singles like “It’s Every Night Sis” featuring his fellow youtube celebrity friend Alissa Violet.
He made the song to parody the viral song “It’s Everyday Bro” which was made by the Vine celebrity Jake Paul. The song made it to the 80th spot of the “Billboard Hot 100”.
He also followed it up with another single “God Church” which reacher first place on the Comedy Digital Chart. Ricegum got featured in one of Youtuber KSI’s video “Earthquake”. This managed to get more than 30 million views.

There was more controversy as the Youtube blogger Gabbi Hanna claimed that Ricegum assaulted her and even wrecked her phone. Things escalated as she was posting evidence through Snapchat. She said that there were wounds on her body that were inflicted by Ricegum.
He then responded with Gabbi’s claims that he actually did trash her phone. But he didn’t inflict any wounds and that the evidence was just stretchmarks.
His fans thought that he was being too sarcastic with his response and that he would have dealt with the situation in a more civil manner.
Gabbi didn’t want to press charges but wanted Ricegum to pay for the damages. The aftermath of the entire fiasco was that Gabbi gained more subscribers on her channel. Meanwhile, Ricegum’s subscriber count took a huge dive.

Even with the Youtuber making millions on his career, he’s still currently living with his parents. He’s enjoying his life without paying any rent.
